How to Upgrade Existing Doors to Fire Doors Using Fire Door Upgrading Systems, Fire Door Coatings, Fire Door Card, Intumescent Seals
Upgrade your standard doors to fire doors to meet UK Building Regulations. Passive Fire Products offer door upgrading solutions & technical expertise to help you satisfy Building Control requirements. Door upgrading can often be more cost effective than replacing with a new fire door and offers a price sensitive solution to the problem of existing doors in houses of multiple occupation, loft conversions, historical buildings.
Each pack of our door upgrade kits can be used to upgrade wooden doors, whether they have flat panels, raised and fielded edges or are ledged and braced doors. In each pack, you’ll find enough primer, intumescent paint, panel card and sealing top coat to fireproof four door sides. The coatings can be applied over existing paint or varnish with minimum preparation and are supplied in clear or white versions.
Existing doors whether coated or not can be upgraded to 30 minutes fire resistance (FD30). We can provide you with a certificate of supply signed by the applicator which Building Control will accept as proof that the upgraded door will meet the required fire resistance tested to BS 476 Part 22.
