Fire Proof Electrical Boxes

Our Fire Rated Meter Overbox have been designed to provide the perfect solution to cover either a new or damaged electricity meter box.  The Fire Rated Meter Overbox provides fire rating, convenient and secure access to your meters, or other such equipment (for internal application only).  The Overboxes are designed to either replace an existing Electrical Overbox or to be fitted over an existing meter box directly, where the original meter is built into the wall.

The Fire Rated Overbox is manufactured in the UK and has been designed to be surface mounted onto a structural membrane block wall system.

The Metal Faced Meter Box is 2 Hour fire rated as standard and is provided with a Metal Door and 25mm wide Picture Frame.  They panels are operated by way of 8mm Triangular Electrical Cabinet Quarter Turn Lock (key included with the panel).  In line with the Fire Test Certification, the panel is s Single Door Unit and would arrive Powder Coated RAL 9010 30% Gloss as standard (other RAL colours are available upon request).  The 1st dimension stated is the hinge side and the dimensions stated are size of the structural opening/meter that needs covering.

This product has a frame depth of 70mm as standard, This can be increased upto 150mm

The Fire Rated Overboxes are manufactured from Zintec Steel with a 0.9mm thick door and frame.

Please Note: in line with the Fire Test Certification, when installing the Over Box, you must apply Intumescent Acrylic Mastic on the rear of the frame, nominally 5mm wide, sealing to the supporting construction.
