Intumescent door upgrade kit designed for upgrading Victorian/Georgian/Edwardian doors to 30 minutes fire doors. Minimum requirements for the door: Rails/Styles thickness = 32mm Panel thickness = 10mm If your door is less that the requirements above then you need to use the Intumescent door upgrade kit DK1 Water-based clear or white intumescent coating kit for upgrading raised-and-fielded or flat panelled doors to fire door status. Each kit contains sufficient primer, intumescent coating and top coat to treat an area of 6m² (approximately 3 to 4 door sides, dependent on the size of the doors).

Product Description

Water based clear or white intumescent coating kit for upgrading raised-and-fielded doors to fire door status.

Only the risk side needs to be coated on room doors and both sides of doors leading onto corridors or at the top of stairs. There is no need to remove any existing paints, varnish or gold leaf; this product can be applied directly over all previous coatings after normal surface washing.

NOTE: Doors must have a minimum 10mm thick fielded area and 32mm thickness stiles and rails. If you are unsure whether your doors are suitable please contact the Technical Department.
